چکیده
Englacial layer velocity can provide insights on the vertical-velocity structure of ice sheets. We present a repeat-pass interferometric approach that allows estimation vertical englacial using radar sounder data. In contrast to ground-based sensors, airborne data potentially be used estimate continental scale. When merged with horizontal surface and numerical models, support 3-D analysis flow structure. Our aim is proof-of-concept demonstration that, similar side-looking synthetic aperture for imaging, subwavelength displacement radio-stratigraphic layers. To achieve this, we use phase magnitude acquired repeatedly over same region interest. After extraction crossing points, two acquisitions are finely registered. Then, compute layers (which shown behave as PSs in nadir sounding geometry), profile. results East Antarctica from high-capability (HiCARS) system. show scenarios demonstrate feasibility, limitations, requirements this approach.

VHF volume-imaging radar observation of aspect-sensitive scatterers tilted in mountain waves above a convective boundary layer
Thin stable atmospheric layers cause VHF radars to receive increased echo power from near zenith. Layers can be tilted from horizontal, for instance by gravity waves, and the direction of VHF “glinting” is measurable by spatial domain interferometry or many-beam Doppler beam swinging (DBS). This paper uses the Middle and Upper atmosphere (MU) radar, Shigaraki, Japan as a volume-imaging radar wi...
متن کاملA Synthetic Aperture Radar Simulator for Repeat Pass Interferometric Data
Correlation between Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) pairs is essential for accurate interferometric phase estimation and digital elevation model (DEM) reconstruction. In this paper, a SAR simulator capable of generating Rayleigh and K-distributed terrain clutter and estimating correlation between InSAR passes will be presented. Furthermore, this simulator will be used to study ...
متن کاملInitial tests of a small scale VHF Boundary Layer Radar
This paper describes a small scale VHF Spaced Antenna Boundary Layer Radar which has been developed using only three antennas. This radar was deployed at Buckland Park, Adelaide Australia for five days in October 2003. Comparisons with a 27 antenna VHF Boundary Layer Radar installed at the same site show excellent agreement with comparable coverage.
متن کاملPermanent scatterers in SAR interferometry
Differential SAR interferometry (DInSAR) is an unique tool for low-cost, large-coverage surface deformations monitoring. As well known, the technique involves interferometric phase comparison of SAR images gathered at different times and has the potential to provide millimetric accuracy. Though temporal decorrelation and atmospheric dishomogeneities strongly affect interferogram quality, reliab...

Future sea-level rise will have significant impacts on populations living in costal regions, and the development of coastal infrastructure. Adaptation to these changes to minimize the negative consequences requires improved sea-level rise predictions. While there are several contributors to changes in sea level, future changes in the Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets are perhaps the least unde...
